A transversal, borderline and hybrid project characterized by cosmic sounds and born from a fascinating mixture composed by hip hop, funk, jazz, neo-soul and electronics, in the sign of the most total contamination, to capture the attention of a largest possible audience. MACK is an innovative formation composed by three daring musicians born with the chromosome of experimentation: Federico Squassabia at keyboards Marco Frattini at the drums and Mattia “Matta” Dallara at electronics. As a proof of surprising eclecticism of this trio, in Ice Dreamer - first extract of the new album out by Deposito Zero Studios - stand out funk- nu metal elements clearly derived from the nineties, in collaboration with the rapper Avex. Mack was born from the brilliant idea of two fearless jazzmen as Federico Squassabia and Marco Frattini. Both of them have very significant collaboration with a lot of musicians of contemporary scene - and in this electronic project are assisted by the producer Mattia “Matta” Dallara of Amycambe. He’s currently based as a producer and sound engineer at Deposito Zero Studios.
Mack is a trio who performed with great success in Italy and out of the national borders, for example: Fano Jazz Festival 2018, BAUM Festival 2018, Vancouver Jazz Festival 2019 (Canada), Trentino Jazz 2019, September Calling in Rome 2020 (Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation), Museum of Music (Bologna, 2020) e Live Rock Festival 2020 in Tuscany. The repertoire is mainly focused on the songs of first eponymous EP published by the well-known label Irma Records in 2019, a work produced by Mattia “Matta” Dallara containing six original compositions and with the presence of five guest: beyond Avox, Devon Miles (vocals), Rachel Doe (vocals), Federico Pierantoni (trombone) and Enrico Terragnoli (guitar). In addition, there will also be other original songs in a live performance with a surreal and suggestive atmosphere, created by the inexhaustible inspiration of Federico Squassabia, Marco Frattini and Mattia “Matta” Dallara.
